That little chill in the air is the reminder that Fall is here, which means wearing a little more protection against the cold. It is also a reminder that October is indeed Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and it might be time to add a few layers of protection to all of your digital assets!
Why not use Cybersecurity Awareness Month as an opportunity to discuss, educate, and instruct your employees on your company’s Cybersecurity Best Practices as well as promptly addressing any cybersecurity issues that you may have?
A leading IT research firm Gartner listed two cybersecurity trends as part of their nine IT trends for 2021. According to them, Cybersecurity Mesh and Private Enhancing Computation are those two trends that are in relation to cybersecurity.
Private Enhancing Computation will devise new and different tech to analyze as well as secure those sensitive data sets that are so important to your company’s internal and external affairs. Cybersecurity Mesh goes beyond the traditional ‘walled’ cybersecurity features and encompasses those important assets by providing specific security parameters around certain people or the identity of a thing (IoT).
Two different government entities, the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) have come up with an original theme for Cybersecurity Month 2021. “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” reminds us all to do our best and take a proactive approach in protecting cyberspace as well as being held accountable and enhancing current cybersecurity practices.
They also are implementing the following timeline in order to make the most of each week during Cybersecurity Month.
Perhaps one of these elements of cybersecurity are the issue(s) you would like to address within your company or organization.
Week #3, October 18, 2021, is Cybersecurity Awareness Week. The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) is an excellent government resource that could serve as a cybersecurity toolkit for your activities during Cybersecurity Month.
This is also a good stepping stone in helping the youth of our country to discover not only the importance of cybersecurity but to explore the many related fields of opportunity available to them as a career choice in Cybersecurity.
Taking the time now to actively pursue cybersecurity awareness just might be the catalyst to making every month cybersecurity month in your company or organization.
